The story that goes along with these pictures could be a book, but I'll spare you all that and simply talk about the pictures.  Monterey is famous in part of the its depiction in Steinbeck's books.  Today it's also famous for the Monterey Aquarium.  It was my goal to spend a day there.  But the better part of the morning was spent looking at the sites "downtown" and on the waterfront.  The air was crisp and cool.  Upon reaching the aquarium I went nuts, taking nearly 100 pictures there alone.  I took so many that by the time I left the battery had died.
