Editorial : Octomom
I'm going to come out and say it, "I hate the Octomom." I think that she is the poster child for terrible decisions and feelings of entitlement. She feels that just because you want something that you should have it. If that was the case then this world would be a lot more unbearable for all of us. Some people have no governor on themselves. They can't stop themselves from eating like pigs, or cheating on their spouse, or stealing. Octomom obviously has no governor on herself because she feels that it's OK to have 14 kids despite the fact that she has no means of support. Logically one would think that you would only have the kids you're able to afford. She says that she is going to school in order to get a good job and support her litter. But the obviously thought most of us have is why not finish school and get your great paying job BEFORE you have a litter of eight kids?! She went about it the wrong way, and now we're all paying for it, literally. Tax money is going to help her have and raise her kids. It is irresponsible to bring one child into a situation where they face financial hardships, let alone eight children to a litter of six.
Octomom is everything I hate about people that feel they are entitled to do anything they want. We have freedoms but no one can do ANYTHING they want. We're only so free because the choices we make have a cost. I can't afford to have a child, so I don't. I can't afford to fund my private space program, so I don't. I may want these things, but it's childish and unrealistic to think that just because I want them that I should be able to have them. I might work ten jobs in order to afford these things, and then no one can say different. But to be on the government dole and still demend more is selfish.
I sent the Octomom a message on her website that stated that I wished she and her kids would be run over by a semi-truck. A co-worker shuttered when I told her what I wrote. I'm just so angry at someone who spits in the face of everyone who is out there struggling to make it another day while she uses more and more resources that could be used for others, all because she's emotionally empty inside.
