Afterthoughts : This Past Month
The shortest month of the year has come and gone. Here's what happened.

flooding on the 134
Sat Feb 2, I was asked to cover a shift today at San Marino. The shift was fine, super easy money. However, the drive to work was harrowing, to say the least. My traffic app kept warning me that there was flooding all along my route to work. It was the most harrowing commute to work I've had in a long time.
My aunt informed me that my cousin's husband came in today and snaked the wash room basin and it's now flowing. Which means, no more going to the laundromat. Oh I was dreading going again. I have to work tomorrow, so I was prepared for my aunt to say that we needed to go after work. My aunt said that there was a dryer sheet stuck in the sink. Hmmm.

oh that works
Sun Feb 3, When I arrived at work I saw the following scene (as shown above). The drains for the rain were flowing out to the concrete. There are two drains, and each one of them have a little channel that is used to funnel the water away from the planters. This is because the soil in the planters gets super saturated and there have been times when the water starts to come up inside the library from the foundation. Oh well, not my problem. In the past I would have fixed the problem. That's the old me. That's the me that cared. I don't care.
Work was whatever today. It was slow due to the rain and the big game being on today. I do love it when it's slow at work.
I was sitting in my room this evening when my aunt came in to give me some papers that came in the mail. They are for her taxes, but she didn't read that on the paper. I feel that she sometimes just wants an excuse to bother me. After a certain time of the night I would rather she just leave me alone.

I received my ten year pin
Mon Feb 4, It was way back in December that I received a certificate in lieu of my ten year pin. The city explained that I would receive my pin "later." Well, today was later. Yeah, ten years here (actually, this is the start of my eleventh year) at San Marino. As Pseudo supervisor said, but there's no future here. the only way to move up is to become a librarian. And that's impossible now. But it is a nice pin.
they put bacon on a Big Mac
I was in a rush tonight because my buddy wanted to talk to me after work. I didn't know that he was on his dinner break, so I told him that I had a little bit of time . I didn't tell him I was having dinner. Since time was running short, I ended up going to McD's. When I arrived I noticed something different on the menu. There was now an option to place bacon on any of their burgers. I ordered a Big Mac with bacon and took it to my car to eat. I have to say that adding bacon to the Big Mac wasn't all that of an experience. It was just kinda meh.
sleepy puppy
I went to visit TheGirl tonight, a Monday night tradition. Cheyenne and I played and we were both pooped afterward. We're both getting older.

work crews
Tue Feb 5, Nearly two years after the library opened after the renovation these dopes are finally coming around to replacing the faulty lights that are all over the entire library. What a bunch of dopes.
unmolested
DrDeath's shelf of so-called popular books is, as my buddy and I like to say, unmolested. I know that he thinks that putting a "shiny" shelf in front of the dopey patrons will magically cause the books to fly off the shelf. But the reality is, the library has alienated the real hard core readers in favor of apps and streaming services. Those things won't keep the library relevant. They will only serve to make the library more irrelevant. But yeah, keep it coming DrDeath.
so much work for Cerberus to do
When I came in to work this morning I checked on Cerberus to see just how "busy" the machine was during the night. Sure enough, it's empty. Fucking dopes. They spent $1,000,000 on this fucking machine, and it does even less work than the administrators. Fucking shit!
all the boxes
I had to make a special delivery after the route today in order to bring a bunch of the stuff for Friday's teen fair. I can't believe how many resources the library has put into this night. Supposedly there will be a lot of people, but I didn't know about these things. Especially since it's on a Friday, and what teen wants to be at the library on a Friday night? Not me. But, I'm getting paid. And then TheDesire texted me to ask if I was working the event. I told her yes, and she mentioned how she's coming by. She won't stay too late, but it will be good to see her after so long.

optimistic pile of paper
Wed Feb 6, At work today there was the pile of slips that were meant for the Open House last month. These slips represent a book bought by a patron. Pseudo supervisor was optimist that we would be able to use all these slips. Obviously not. There were many things that contributed to the low numbers at the open house. Some people have blamed the fact that the open house was on the same day as the Chinese school having an event. In short, people were just not interested. Why would a person go to the library on a Saturday voluntarily? Not only that, there seems to be a fatigue with these sort of things at the library. This is why the big yearly fundraiser was stopped. The people of the community came the first few years, but then they felt it was just the same old thing. Seeing this pile of paper shows me that people are just not that interested in helping the library. People don't think the library needs help. They must feel that the city is funding the library fully and there is no need to help out. But of course the library does need help. But how to help? Any help the Foundation and Friends of the library provide, I fear, will be met with the same reduction of funding from the city. And I don't care any more. Everything sucks.
puppy dog eyes
Tonight TheGirl and I stayed in and had dinner at her new place. We haven't had a dinner at her place, where she cooks, in a LONG time. We mostly go out. If we do stay in it's usually on my week and I bring in food. But this time, due to the cold and TheGirl's finances, we stayed in. And it was like old times with enchiladas, mac and cheese, or should I say banana-roni and cheese, and salad. Lately I've been hungry to the point that I will clean my dish like in the old days. Puppy and I played extra hard, but she did give us both the face as if to say, "Why aren't we going out?" It's too darn cold, what with us having to sit outside. Last week we were able to sit outside because the restaurant had a covered patio and heaters. But this week we decided to stay in, and it was great.

DrDeath at work
Thu Feb 7, I was walking up to administration when I noticed DrDeath in the fiction stacks. He was taking some time to arrange the books on the shelves. I wrote about it here how a few weeks ago he had a decree that the pages were to place the books on the shelves in a manner more akin to a bookstore, where some books face out. He even did one of the shelves in the way he wanted the rest of them to be done. I guess he's not too happy with how they were arranged, since he was out there this morning doing it himself. I suppose he doesn't have anything else to do in his day than act like a page. Good use of your time, DrDeath.
performance art
Almost two years ago, when the library reopened after the renovation, there was this idea that there would be a morning meeting before opening at the slaughter desk. There were meetings the first couple of weeks, but then it petered out. Same went for the whiteboard in circulation that was to be updated daily. I've shown pictures here that it is now a blank canvas. No updates for MONTHS. This is why it's funny that today there was a full on meeting at the slaughter desk, and we have the new teen librarian (pictured above) to thank for that. The scene looked silly. Kvon was "conducting" the meeting, pointing to people and asking if they had anything going on. All theater for the new guy. I stood there with my mouth agape. I then started to laugh, but I held it in as best as I could. This won't last long. Hell, I don't expect a meeting next week.
so-called maker space
On my way back to circulation I stopped off at the children's room to check out the so-called "makers space" up there. In weeks past I've come up here and the blinds have been down, so I haven't been able to see much. Today I got a nice view of the room. Clearly the room is just a collection of toys. So much for another stupid mockery space. Which is actually a good thing. No one needs another failed mockery space. I like to point out that even these dopes get the fact that the mockery space downstairs is a total failure, and that it's best not to duplicate that failure upstairs on a smaller scale. Or do they realize that?
those hips
Of all the pretty girls at the library the most attractive might have to be little page, as my buddy called her. I don't like that name, because it means literally nothing. Anyway, they roped her into working this even tomorrow night. I saw her putting up the stick on letters on the windows at the library (as shown above). I took this picture and sent it to my buddy Vagabundo. She's quite nice this "LP" for short. But what lady isn't nice?

highlights
Fri Feb 8, I go to Adam's first on Fridays these days, and when I arrived I noticed that they had highlighted their events on the stupid event's flier. Good idea. But really each location should just have their own flier in addition to the whole system flier. But what do I know?
Kpop ladies
Tonight was the big "teen" fair at the library. I'm not sure if it's a great idea, but these dopes did put a lot of work into it. I know, because I put a lot of work into it myself, in my own way. I hauled so much of the stuff to Central from various locations. I'm kinda glad this day finally showed up. I started out the night taking pictures of a so-called "Kpop" group. Not sure what that's about, but the ladies looked nice.
fairly big crowds
To be fair, get it, there were a lot of people in attendance. I'm not sure how all of this connects with what the library is, but I guess it's just about brining in dopes into the library. The hell how or why they come in, as long as they can claim that they had a lot of people show up to one of their events. This one event can fuel other events that are just as pointless.
coworkers
It was a long night. I worked from 8am this morning and finished up just before 10pm. It was rather fun until I got tired. But yeah, I'm glad I was able to make a few extra bucks tonight. And you know, it was nice to be out of the house for once.

neighbors are building something
Sun Feb 10, My neighbors are building something in their backyard. I'm not sure what they're building, but it's big enough to be a room. My aunt seems to think that's a room for my neighbor's mother. But I didn't see any plumbing. Also, it is more likely to be some sort of storage. Later my aunt told me that it was for storage. The mom will move in to where the garage currently is located. But not after the garage is emptied out.

three are now missing
Tue Feb 12, My buddy mentioned that Central had lost at least two of the Vocera badges, so this morning I went to check for myself. I counted three missing. I joked to my buddy that I was sure that AD took one of them home. Now that hasn't come out, but I wouldn't be surprised if my joke turned out to be true. So many times I will say something as a joke, and sure enough it comes to fruition. There is literally no way of knowing who took the badges. If only they thought of some sort of way to "check out" the badges to someone. If only they had some sort of system. Oh I don't know, like the system used to check out books and stuff? Yeah, no. Don't worry that a piece of equipment that costs about $400 is just handed out like candy to the employees. Fucking idiots. Why is it these dopes don't ever think beyond what they see in front of these collective noses? Idiots.
Cerberus is still chewing itself up
Ad has said that Cerberus is working "fine." But of course bastardo here knows better. The fucking machine has been slowly tearing one of the conveyor belts apart for weeks. Now AD says that the machine is working fine. Evidence to the country not withstanding. AD will continue to polish this and other turds all she wants... they're still turds.
At the end of the day Kvon asked me if I could come up with two questions for the driver job candidates. I told him I would. What I plan on doing is crafting a pair of questions that will hopefully give some clues to a potential driver that this job isn't for the timid. I want to be able to give those on the panel something they can focus on to give some insight on what kind of employee they will be. Because we can't have a repeat of what Benedict was. And so I think about the potential questions.

house call
Wed Feb 13, I didn't like how my aunt looked last night when I got home. She had a "cold," but her face looked really down. I asked her if she wanted to go to the hospital, but she said no. I couldn't help myself, I found a doctor online on a service that I saw showcased on TV. The story on the news was about doctors that do house calls via an app. I couldn't get them to show up last night, so I had them show up first thing today.
I texted my boss at work to say that I couldn't come in to work because I was going to get my aunt to the doctor. That done I waited until they showed up. The doctor showed up and did a quick examination on my aunt. He told her she needed to remember to take her regular meds, which she admitted to me that she forgot to take yesterday. The doctor also prescribed some flu meds. I hope she's on the mends. My aunt didn't say anything about me calling in the doctor, because the doctor even said it was a good idea that I called before things got more serious.

it's going to be raining a lot today
Thu Feb 14, The news last night said that the rain for today was going to come down hard. I do love the rain, but not on my route days. I obviously can't control when it's going to rain, but when the news says it's going to be all day I don't like it. Rather it rain during the night.
today calls for a trench coat
The weather called for a lot of rain today. Last time it rained hard I was soaked because my hoodie isn't water proof. I decided that today was a trench coat kind of day, and I'm glad I wore it. I would have been super soaked today if not for my reliable trench coat. Plus, I looked good. Though almost everyone said I looked like, "Inspector Gadget." Terrible.
the look of the future
I've been working in libraries since I was going to CSUN, 2006 to be exact. I've seen some changes, to say the least. I remember the first change that I remember that made me wonder about the direction of libraries in general was the inclusion of a coffee cart inside the lobby of the CSUN library. And now, the cart is gone, but it's been replaced with a whole counter and stall. That counter replaced the information desk that I worked during my time at CSUN. It is as blunt an example of the changes in that and other libraries. So when one of the librarians told me that DrDeath was buying tables in order to have the books sit on them, like at a bookstore, I didn't flinch. It's not the first change to the wrong that I've seen, it's simply the latest.
chili-cheese dog
I was tasked with going to Semi Valley to pick up a piece of art. I also exchanged emails with the shut-in that I visit monthly, and we decided that it was best if I visited her today to drop off her books. Put that together with nothing in the fridge being appetizing and you have me eating lunch at Larry's chili dog in Burbank. I've had the place on my list for a while, but I'm never in the area. But today I figured I could go there since it's relatively close to the shut-in's place. Also, it's in the same direction. I ordered up a chili dog with cheese and some tatter tots. The tots were nice and crispy, and smelled as though they had some seasoning. But I didn't really taste any seasoning. The chili dog was good. I wondered what was taking so long after I ordered, but these guys are good. They melted the cheese on top of the dog, and that little bit of detail made it that much better. The dog itself had a nice snap when bitten into. The taste was OK, nothing mind blowing here. But I do think they need a better mustard and for some reason the onions seemed to get lost in the whole thing. Overall a good chili dog. I approve.
somewhere in Sun Valley
I went to drop off some books at the shut-in that I visit. When I got there the rain had flooded out a portion of the street. There was a ton of water flowing from one driveway. Boy, that's messed up. The good thing is I didn't have to go through that street. And it was doubly good that right after taking this picture I found out I didn't have to drive out to Semi Valley.
Edward Hopper's "Automat"
The Edward Hopper house feed on social media posted the picture above to say to the world, "Happy Valentine's day." It's a picture of a painting called "Automat."

Fri Feb 15, My aunt comes into my room around 8:30pm to talk to me about her appointment tomorrow. I told her that I would take her for some test she has to take. She comes into my room reading a letter that has the instructions that she has to follow to be ready for her test tomorrow. In the instructions it says that she should have been taking some antibiotics since yesterday. She never got them. That's on the hospital. But she also she should have read the instruction letter last week, not the night before. Because now she's going to have to call the hospital and tell them about not having the pills. Which probably means she won't be taking the text tomorrow. She'll have to reschedule.

getting new tires
Sat Feb 16, My car has needed new tires for a few weeks now. Really for a few months. I hadn't had the time, but today I had the energy and the time to get the new tires. I'm so glad, because the old tires were nearly bald.

yummy fish tacos
Mon Feb 18, Since my aunt is still recuperating from the flu, I told her that it was best that she didn't visit my Godmother yesterday. She agreed. In lieu of going yesterday I told my aunt that we should go and visit her today. That way I can drive us and also visit. I figured that we would eat at the Honeybaked store. But then my aunt said that she was craving some Mexican food. I quickly thought about where we could go, since we were just about to enter Burbank. I thought of a place TheGirl and I have considered going to get some dinner. We haven't gone mainly because they don't serve booze. But, obviously I'm not going to have booze today. My aunt ordered a chili relleno, and I ordered a pair of fish tacos. The tacos were divine. The fish was slightly fried, and tasted good. The tacos had lettuce, which is not the "traditional" topping. However, they also added some pickled green chilies that were super yummy. For me they made the tacos. I really can't wait to come back again. I asked if they opened on Sundays, but they don't. It would have been a food alternative to always going to the Honeybaked store. Perhaps it's time to switch this routine up though.
visiting my Godmother with my aunt
After "brunch" we drove to where my Godmother lives. I was surprised at how good my Godmother looked. I'm not saying she's super good, but considering she's nearly 95 years old she looks good.
Earlier I mentioned changing up the routine. In the last few weeks I've noticed that my aunt is not well. Certainly dealing with having the flu knocked her back a bit. But I also see a general slow down in her. She feels better, but today I still saw that sad look in her eyes that I've seen other people in my life when they are not feeling well. I worry about her. She seems even more forgetful than normal. I know she's slower than normal. I feel bad that once again I'm powerless to ultimately help her overcome this. Because it's just life, and we get run down. Hell, I always feel tired, and that can't be normal.

the carpet in the library is filthy
Tue Feb 19, When I entered the library today it was very quiet. I had a notion to walk around the stacks, something I don't do these days. Something I really haven't done since the last days of the renovation. Boy, the things I saw. I'll just share the picture above of one of the study corrals. The carpet is absolutely filthy. Does anyone see this, other than me, and think that it might be time to get the carpets cleaned? And by "anyone" I mean the big bosses upstairs. Does DrDeath or AD see this shit? Nope. So much of the carpet is turning black with dirt. And it's also all coming up and fraying. The whole thing is a massive clusterfuck.
I found out from one of the city guys that the guys that were changing the busted lights were fired. They were taking their sweet time, because the city was paying them by the hour. In these sorts of situations you don't pay dopes like this guy the hour, you contract it out and they're paid upon completion. Otherwise you get what you got this time, slow work. Because of course the contractor is going to want to milk it. Idiot city.
Last week Kvon asked me to come up with at least two questions for the driver job candidates. Today I told him I would email them to him tonight, since I misunderstood that he was going to be doing the interviews Wednesday. He turns to me and says, "Oh yeah... I forgot that I have to write some myself." Ah, what? Come on. Here's I'm just a peon and I'm doing my job in a timely manner. But I'm also not the boss.
On a different subject, I like how Kvon, along with countless others, blah AD for her stupid emails about how busy she is during her week. No one fucking cares. Because it's not just the verbal masturbating, it's the pictures of her weekend with the family. A weekend that often starts on Thursday afternoon. It was good to hear Kvon put her down for that. Fuck those administration dopes.
I guess I should have figured that since Krishna was been looking extra curvy these days that she was knocked up. But I didn't know, because since it's cold she's been wrapping her body up in a lot of layers and scarfs. Well, today she revealed to me that she's with child again. I wonder if she's going to want me to take her photo again.

breakfast, part two
Wed Feb 20, I had my usual store-bought quesadilla this morning that my aunt warms up in the microwave. It's not very much food, so I often get hungry in the late morning. Today I became hungry just as I was driving to work. When I got off the freeway I filled the tank with gasoline and then went to the market. When I got there I saw that the chicken strips were nice and hot. I took a pair and after paying I sat in my car and wolfed them down. They really hit the spot. I was starving just before I ate them.
Cheyenne at TheGirl's place
It's been two weeks since Chan and I have had dinner with TheGirl and Cheyenne, due because I missed work last Wednesday because I was nursing my sick aunt. Cheyenne went crazy, jumping up and down when I entered the door. She was nuts! Because it was so cold out tonight TheGirl and I decided that I should pick some food up from a local place we like. The food and the company really hit the spot.
This weekend TheGirl is going to Las Vegas with her daughter. Cheyenne will be not go with them. She's being locked after by TheHusband. TheGirl doesn't like TheHusband taking care of Cheyenne, because he's kinda mean to her. TheGirl said that he spanked her very hard once, and that TheGirl told him never to do that again. TheGirl's daughter suggested I take care of Cheyenne, but the girl's response to her was, "He has a life." I love Cheyenne, but it's true. I wouldn't be able to devote too much time on Sunday. Saturday I could have just gone over to TheGirl's place and stayed there most of the day. But Sunday would have been difficult, since I drop off my aunt at my Godmother's and then I go to work. Poor Cheyenne would be left alone most of the day.

enough books for ya?
Thu Feb 21, It's a good thing circulation has a big amount of floor space, because it's needed. What with almost the entire open space being filled with unshelled books (see above). This is the library now. A fucking dysfunctional and impotent entity that can't even get the books back on the shelves.
light work crew (now fired)
I ran into one of the maintenance guys that I chat with about the library. He was telling me that the work crew putting up the new lights, the crew I hadn't seen in weeks, had been fired. Apparently the crew only changed 24 lights in two days. These dopes at the city contracted the crew to work hourly. Yeah, good idea. Of course this crew went slow, they were being paid by the hour. They had to install six hundred lights. Now to be fair, they weren't tasked with doing all of the lights. The city guys, like the one I talked to today, were doing their share of the lights. But now the city guys are going to be doing all of the light replacements. And they'll be paid overtime. Good for those guys. Sorry stupid city. I mean come on. You don't hire a crew by the hour, you hire them for the entire project. Can you imagine how long it would take to finish the recent renovation if the city directly paid the workers by the hour? The crews would still be working on it to this day. Good work stupids. Yet another library fail to file under "incompetence."
I need to write fewer emails
TheLamp sent out an email today regarding the city's email about how we're supposed to format our email "signatures" in the manner described above. And of course we have a new logo for the city, which I think looks pretty blah. Especially that color combination. But, whatever. I don't know I can do to sabotage this thing, but I'll think of something. Yes, I know we're supposed to have this official signature thing, but does it have to be the longest signature EVER? Dumb.

Carmel on my mind
Fri Feb 22, Again with the social media. This time it was a post from the city of Carmel social media feed (shown above). The photo makes me want to return to Carmel. I've said that I want to perhaps go to San Francisco for Thanksgiving. The thing is now I have to consider my aunt in the equation. She has recovered well from the flu and how she was a couple of weeks ago. But I do see a general slowdown. I do see that I have to step up more in the house. I can't change the future, but I can certainly try to help her in more ways. Time will tell when I consider going back up north, but I do wish I could sooner than later.
new, cute, intern working at Brand
I was introduced to the new Brand intern. She's, in a word, cute. The gang at Brand told me that she will be working for about two months. I wonder if I'll muster the courage to ask her out. I'd like that very much. Details to come. I think that Misa said she was from Japan. Nice.

Sat Feb 23, I planned on jerking off last night, but while I had my dick out, I did a little too much drinking. Enough that I ended up having some major whiskey dick. Oh well, I'll jerk it tonight. Ha! I woke up at around 9am today. Which isn't too much sleeping in. But after breakfast I passed out. I ended up passing out three times after my breakfast, and once after an early supper. Certainly this will mean I'll be nice and rested for tonight's jerk-off session. Ha!
When I'm home I don't eat for pleasure. It's only on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights that I know I'm going to eat something I really like, as a general rule. My aunt made a mountain of spaghetti. So that's pretty much all there is to eat. I've had enough spaghetti for a while. But we've hardly put a dent into the pile. ARGH!
library social media post
I follow the social media feed for CSUN library. They have some cool things going on there. I saw the above entry and I thought to myself how it might be a good idea to join their friends of the library group. It's kinda a silly idea, but I want to reconnect to the old Oviatt library in some way. Call it nostalgia. Call it wanting to perhaps visit a library that isn't falling apart from inside (I don't actually know that for sure though). Call it whatever, it's a thought. We shall see if it comes to fruition.
Ilsa in Brazil
Ilsa is in Brazil. I know she just came back, but she had some business to take care of. She's looking pretty good in this picture of her at a night club. Very nice.
Pasadena page unlocked her social media feed
I'm not sure what possessed me to check on Pasadena page's social media, but I did. I found that she unlocked her social media. This meant I got to see what she's been posting. It's pretty much about her life and such. I saw that she apparently has a fella. Oh well, there goes that idea. There goes yet another woman I didn't have a chance with from the start. So typical.

and one makes three
Mon Feb 25, Yesterday as we were leaving work there was a new stuffed toy sitting next to Crowelly and Finn (see above). It's a little pink pig. I want to come up with a name for the new stuffed animal to have it on the comic strip. I certainly don't want the name to be common. We shall see what I pick. I kinda wanted to name the stuffed animal after the coworker that was fired, TheWish. I'm sure they would really beat me up for that. Oh well, it's a thought.
tired puppy
I went over to TheGirl's tonight, as every monday. When I arrived at TheGirl's Cheyenne was super excited. We played roughhouse for a short time, and after only a short time she was pooped. Cheyenne is definitely slowing down, just like I feel I'm slowing down. In the past Cheyenne just needed to rest a bit and she was up and ready for more playing. Tonight she pretty much just played that one time and knocked out after that. It's so sad to see her slow down so quickly these days. I don't ever want anything bad to happen to her. But the reality is she is getting older. Aren't we all.

mountain of books
Tue Feb 26, The mountain of books continues to grow in circulation (look above). That's what happens when shelving is not prioritized. But hey, what do I care? I don't work the desk, so I never have to get frustrated about not finding a book. I don't shelve, so I don't have to worry that I can't fit the books on the shelves. Whatever. I don't give a shit. This library has trained me not to give a shit about it. Truly I don't care.
The route today was pretty much went right down the middle. I am spreading the "gospel" whenever I can. By that I mean that I'm letting everyone know just how idiotic these dopes upstairs really are. I will list administration's crimes at the drop of a hat. I don't care. I don't feel the need to protect anyone of those criminals. They have run this once OK library into the ground. For that they need to pay. However, I'm not holding my breath that they will pay. No one every pays for their sins.

that quote pretty much says it all
Wed Feb 27, The day was dominated by the testimony of the President's former personal attorney, Michael Cohen. I won't go into details, but suffice to say that Mr. Cohen made a good case for the President to be impeached. Certainly not re-elected. That was a given even before today. But truthfully the President is a liar. Cohen said at one point in his opening statement that Trump was, "... A racist, he is a con man, he is a cheat." Nothing ambivalent about that. It is time that people call out the President for his lies. But there are people in this country that would burn rather than say that the President is wrong about anything. Well he is wrong. The President is wrong about a great many things. He is a racist. He is a liar. He is a con man. And yet, we suffer.
the city of Dan Marino
I think it was last week that the city sent out an email saying that there was a signature that we needed to have on our city emails. It's a huge new city logo and ur name, rank and serial number. Well, I don't like the new design, and I don't email anyone anyway. What I did to undermine the whole thing was to chance a letter in the signature in order to have it read, "City of Dan Marino" rather than city of San Marino. I went TheLamp an email and she sent the following back. I changed the D back into an S. Dang.
TheGirl at dinner
TheGirl and I didn't know where to go for dinner tonight, because the forecast called for cold and maybe even some rain. We ended up going to the bland cafe, as I now named it. I had one good meal there a while back, but since then it's been pretty bland food for me. Still, TheGirl likes it and we can easily take Cheyenne with us because of their covered patio. Tonight I ordered a pizza, and it turned out pretty good. Nothing great, but good. And inexpensive. TheGirl has to pay more for her rent these days, which means less for things such as our Wednesday night dinners.
I can report that Cheyenne was full of energy tonight after dinner. We roughhoused big time. We even played in the backyard for a little bit. I got super winded while doing that. I mean, I have gained a lot of weight lately. Mainly I've packed on the pounds because of all the booze I drink. Not going to lie, I feel super fat these days. I want to cut down on the drinking and only drink on Wednesdays and Friday nights. No extra drinking the other nights. My body will be all the better for not having all those extra calories.

look at that drop
Thu Feb 28, I post this here because I wanted to show just how far down the stock I bought last year has fallen. I got out when the stock was in the $70 range. I don't remember the price exactly, but I know I made about $20 from the sale of the stock. Today, if I had not gotten out when I did my stock would be at a loss of something like $25 or perhaps a little more. Not good. I'm new at this stock thing, but I'm glad I didn't get taken to the cleaners with his one. And worst of all, look at how it dropped so much in the last few days. It was hovering around $30 and now it lost $10 in the last week. I mean come on.
just go fuck yourselves, big dopes
It has been a while since the turn onto the freeway on Sepulveda blvd has been a clusterfuck. But today that's what it was. It's hard to see from the picture above, but the van in front of me is using the wrong lane to turn onto Sepulveda. I grant you a lot by saying that this is not the best designed intersection. It is a product of the layout and having to have two entrances to the freeway side by side. In olden days there was one entrance for both the 405 and the 101. But if you wanted to go on the 405 North you had to cross three lanes of traffic in about a quarter of a mile. Sometimes that would be easy, sometimes not so much. So the state redid the entrance to now have a dedicated entrance for the 405, which love. However, people don't read the signs and they get into the lane that only goes to the 101. And since it's almost always empty, the lane that is, these dummies think "Oh look at that, an open lane." Nevermind that an open lane in bumper to bumper traffic should raise a red flag. Why would this ONE lane be so empty? Perhaps because NO ONE IS GOING IN THAT DIRECTION? Perhaps because it TURNS while everyone else wants to go straight. This happens all over the city, but there are still dopes that look at the open lane and think to themselves how stupid everyone else is for not taking that lane. Meanwhile, those in the know have knowledge and are not going to go down that open lane, because it means you're not going to be able to go straight ahead, or make the crucial turn. But of course there are always those dopes that don't get it, and the above is what results. Not only is the van trying to make a turn into the wrong lane, the car to the side is trying to merge into that same lane. Like I said, clusterfuck.
The interviews for the other driver job was last week. I figured that it was a good idea to ask Kvon about whether the guy that already drives on Mondays and Wednesdays was going to be made official. Sure enough Kvon said that he would be driving, but that he also wants to move me off driving one day so the new driver could have at least one day driving. See, the way it works is that Kvon wants to have a new driver/back-up drive one day a week in order to keep him up to date with the route. In short, we would go back to having three drivers one the route, with the new guy driving one day, and the other guy and me splitting up the remainder of the week... two days each. That would mean that I would lose a day driving. But, I would not lose a day of work, but rather I would be working on the slaughter desk one day a week. Just great. This is something they've wanted to do for a LONG time. Ever since the reopening of the library from the renovation. If the timing works out I might return to the desk something in July through September. If that's the case that means I will have gone three years off that desk. And yet knowing me I would just slaughter those dopes that work there now. Yeah, but I don't want to return to the desk, but I may not have a choice. Dang.
I can't remember if I mentioned this, but I found out this week that Krishna is pregnant. Bug not only that, so is Ru. Ru being pregnant is the greatest tragedy. But I shouldn't be surprised since that's how things are going these days. FML.

Wrap-up, February is the shortest month of the year, but this February has felt long. Maybe that's a good thing in a sense. But it also had some downs, like my aunt being sick. Yet, overall the month was pretty good. I give this month a grade of a B.
