Afterthoughts: This Past Month
I ask what is happening here. I know that something is happening, but the true nature seems to be obscure. Time for the update.

apparently I took a shower at 3am this morning
Friday, August, 1, I jerked off and drank some booze last night. Somewhere in the night I got up after passing out in my chair. Instead of going to bed I got up and took a shower. As if I was going to work at 3am. When I woke up later in the morning, close to my regular wake-up time, I realized what I did. What in the world possessed me to do that?
I was talking to Junior earlier in the week, but I just now remembered that I didn't put that conversation in my journal. In our conversation she told me that "Paul" had access to her bank account. Well, that's a done deal. She's for sure being fleeced. Or will be soon enough.
new cute cleaning woman
There's a new cleaning woman at Central and she's pretty nice looking. We greeted each other this morning as I came in. She gave me a smile. Who does that these days? She told me her uncle is one of the other cleaning crew.
bookmobile button magnets
The bookmobile turns one, and we are having a celebration in the middle of the month. Some of the things they have been getting ready is a giant hat to sit atop of it. But I saw today they also made some bookmobile magnets. When I got home I looked at the magnet a little closer and found that I don't like the font they used on the one pictured above on the right. Something about that font is so bland. Also, it's just not festive, or engaging in any way. Jeez, these people need some graphic design lessons.
I may pay more thanks to dumb dumb
I got a letter in the mail and an email giving me some details that basically boil down to I might have to pay more for my health insurance after 2025 ends. Thanks to dumb dumb Donald cutting funding my health insurance will probably go up. Most likely. How much? Not known. Fucking asshole!
Maybe my aunt heard me taking a shower in the middle of the night, because tonight she decided to take a shower at 10pm. I was in my backyard, when I felt that I needed to use the restroom. Once again my aunt is heading towards the bathroom. So I paused and turned back around and went to fill the bird feeders. I walked back in and she was walking back to her room. I knew she didn't go to the bathroom that quickly, because she never does anything quickly. I then thought to use the restroom, but she was heading back to the bathroom. ARGH! Fucking Algorithm is now playing tricks on me. I really had to go, so I went out to the backyard and peed. I come back in to wash my hands and my aunt is right there at the door telling me she's going to take a shower. Double ARGH! I went and brushed my teeth and then retired to my room.
results of online credit calculator
I went online to find a payment calculator to see exactly how long it will take me to pay off my credit card bills. If I continue paying $311 to American Express I will supposedly pay it off in about a year and a half (see above). Good. That is about $600 a month that I will gain back after I pay both my Am Ex and Discover card. And, when I pay off my Am Ex I can use that money to pay Discover a little faster. The calculator estimates two years for my Discover card to be paid off. I didn't realize how low an interested, relatively, Discover charges. They only charge me 11.24% APR. That's high, but for a credit card that's low. Some banks charge in the mid to high 20% range. Am Ex charges me 17.24% APR. High, but again, not in the 20% range like others do. Still, it's time to pay these off and have that money for me.

Abigail back in June
Saturday, August, 2, I was going to order from somewhere else, but I ended up ordering something from Pollo Loco. When I went in Abigail was there and she went to get my order without me even asking. Nice. She's cute.
poppy.nylons
I usually don't think of ladies in nylons, but this one looked really nice. I really like the style. Too bad I don't know any lady that would wear stylish nylons for me.
I got up from my desk around 5pm knowing that the rumble in my belly probably meant that my aunt's stomach was doing the same thing. Sure enough, I step out of my room and my aunt is feet away from the door. She asks what we're going to eat for supper. I tell her I have food leftover from this morning, and that I was going to finish that up. She gets all whiney and tells me I should get something "de la calle," also known as the street. Basically take out. I push back, but she insists. Fine. What does she want to eat, I ask her. As always, this is the hardest question ever asked. She finally says she wants a baked potato. Fine, that means one choice. Wendy's. In addition to the potato she wants a chicken sandwich. As I'm going out I order that and a small burger. I was telling Ilsa that this was emotional blackmail, and I'm not going to take it anymore. From this point forward I eat what I want. I only wish that more restaurants had smaller portions.
Wendy's
My aunt told me that she wanted a baked potato for supper, so I had to go to Wendy's. It was populated by a bunch of dregs. Then, when I went out to my car a voice was talking over a loud speaker saying that this area is being monitored twenty-four hours a day. I didn't get the whole spiel, but I did record the part where it says to enjoy my meal and enjoy your day.
It would seem that a lot of fast food joints don't have kid's menus, or got rid of them. The reason I'm talking about kid's menus is to find smaller portions options. Chipotle has a nice taco combo that is smaller. Most of the fast food places I checked just serve up a small burger as the kid's option.
why yes, I am a vampire
A few months ago I bought a suction cup hook to hang my towel from. The package came with two hooks, but I only needed one. Today I figured that I could use the other one to mount my mirror, for when I shave in the shower. Mission accomplished. In testing the position I got my electric razor and trimmed my eyebrows. Double mission accomplished.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Sunday, August, 3, "What are you going to eat?" Why does that question bother me so much when my aunt asks me? I guess because why the fuck does she care? She's not going to help me make it or eat it. Like today she admonished me we are not to "toil today." I just laughed and walked away. I have to cook to feed myself this coming work week. So yes, I will "toil" today.
watered down dish soap... like why?
My aunt likes to add water to the dish soap. Not sure why she does that. We have a ton of soap. And it's harder to clean the dishes. I went ahead and washed the dishes with straight dish soap today. Made so many suds. I washed the dishes today because of the aforementioned toiling.
After the mistake of buying the yummy yogurt that has added sugar last week, I went to the market with some knowledge. I did a search last night to see which yogurts don't have added sugars. I picked the Chobani Greek yogurt to try first. Zero added sugars, and the reality is the fruit I'll add to it will have enough sweetness.
folded shirts
As stated sometime before, because of some fake Jewish holiday my aunt said she was not going to toil today. On normal weekends she will fold my laundry while I chill in my backyard. I appreciate her doing that, but I never asked her to do it. Today I was on my own, but that's fine because I enjoy folding my clothes. And I fold them how I like it.
again with the paper shit
I put "clean out plug" as a taste on my calendar every two weeks. Today was the day, and I found a wad of paper in the sink plug. Why the fuck does she keep doing this?
January Jones
January Jones put up this picture on Instagram and boy does she look incredible.
I only discovered Rachel Levin today, but one of her songs really touched me. It's called Souvenirs, and in the chorus she says:
But please just give me one more day
I wish we had just one more day
I wish I had just one more day
I wish you had just one more day
I wish I could have made you stay
The one I thought about when I heard these lyrics was not a person, but Cheyenne. There will be a time when I will just want one more day. We don't get to negotiate that. That's when we start to bargain and ask some force that we wish was out there for times like this for some mercy and grant us what we wish for. There is no such force.

Arpi
Monday, August, 4, I'm pretty sure I creeped out a patron at Casa. I was doing the delivery and I go up to the desk and she's there being helped by Kerri. I've helped her out before, and I think she's cute, so I took a picture of her. Well, I'm pretty sure she saw what I did, because her demeanor changed immediately. I mean I did take her picture, so sure I understand why she reacted that way.
I've already lost all hope of ever being with a woman again. Certainly if I'm creeping out young ladies that I find attractive and unattainable. What am I actually doing?
getting my steps in at an empty Brand library
I took my time at Brand to have my lunch and to walk around the inside of the library to get my steps. There was no way I was going to take my walk outside. The humidity is too much, and the weather is really affecting me these days. I walked about a mile before one of the city workmen came up to deal with a contractor that was there to fix one of the glass doors.

lunch at the library time
Tuesday, August, 5, Today was the last day of the lunch at the library events. It's been such a "success." In huge air quotes. I've said it many times, these visits to the park are a waste of time. But, it's also easy money for me. I should just keep my mouth shut and do my easy job.
For the Win burger
I didn't bring lunch with me today because I wanted to eat a burger at this place named For the Win. It's another one of these smash burger joints that popped up a few years ago and is now the burger trend here in Los Angeles. I had planned on walking there from the library, but it was so damn hot I just drove the bookmobile there. The burger itself wasn't bad, it was good. These days there are so many of these smash burger places that it's hard to keep track of them. The burger from Burgers never say Die is better. So is the one from the Win-dow. Again, this is not a bad burger. But... it cost me $14, and I think the other two cost me less. Oh and Bill's is also better and cheaper. RIP.
bookmobile at National Night Out
Phase two of my long shift today was at Palmer park's celebration of the National Night out. We had a better turnout for this than this morning's lunch thingie. Not as big of a turnout as Cruise Night, but Cruise Night is huge. Still, we had a good turnout, and we interacted with a bunch of people.
last book picked up, first book checked out tonight
Jaclyn asked me to get some marketplace books for the bookmobile, because we were short, and we expected more adults showing up tonight. I grabbed a bunch, including one book entitled Didion and Babitz. It looked interesting to me. When I was out at the park a lady came by and signed up for a library card. She picked this book, because she's been wanting to read Didion. It was the first book checked out of the night. Nice.

Janae
Wednesday, August, 6, A few weeks ago I was walking into my local CVS and on my way out these two nice young ladies asked me a question. They were fundraising for Doctors without Borders. I donated some money. Ever since that day I've been thinking about one of the two ladies and how nice she was. I know, she's supposed to be nice to sell me on donating money. Anyway, I've been thinking about her is all. I'll never see her again, that's for sure. We're not going to randomly run into each other in this vast city. It was a random thing that we ran into each other in the first place. Also, what did I say in an earlier entry... there is zero chance of any woman having an interest in me. Even if I ran into her, she's going to want to date me? I'm probably twice her age. I guess I just wanted to bring her up so I could put her in this journal.
I was talking to Vivian and she said that it looked like they were going to move her Thursday storytime to 10:30am instead of the present 9:30am. Which means they will want me to start work at 10am instead of 9am. It just figures. The positive is that it's only an hour, and I can sleep in a little more on Thursdays.
Cheyenne
It's been hot during the day, but the evenings have cooled down. Until last night. It was hot, so I wondered if it would be cool enough to go out to anywhere with a patio. The good thing about Don Cuco's is that there is a big building that helps block the sun in that area after a certain time of day. That, and the angle of the street help keep it in the shadows for much of the afternoon. So, by the time evening comes it's cool. We were able to secure our favorite table. I am eating rice and beans all week, so I didn't need to order them here. I think I ordered the combo by mistake, but it was fine. I decided to only eat one and take the other one home with me. The booze took my pain away, for sure.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Thursday, August, 7, My back pain woke me up at around 3:30am, and it was hard for me to go back to sleep. I did fall asleep for a little bit, but I was in my chair, because laying in bed just hurt too much. Of course that made me sleepy the entire rest of the day.
I asked Gitmo about the new hours for me at Casa on Thursdays. Vivian's story time will start an hour later, at 10:30am, which means I don't need to be at Casa until 10am. I lose an hour in the transaction, but what can I do? Maybe I'll make it up on the bookmobile side. If not, it's only an hour.
The pain was better today, but I attribute that to meds I took. But as I write this it's nearly 3pm and when I got up to help a patron I almost doubled over in pain. I have zero idea how I injured my back. Well, it's more like my right side. I think it's a cramp, but I'm not a doctor.
When I got home my aunt tells me that Talia called the house phone. Sure enough, there's a message on the answering machine from Talia. She has a new phone, and ended up having her surgery after all. I'll have to call her this weekend to see what's up with her.
Enchanted coming soon
There was an ad for Enchanted Forest of Light in today's mail. I sent a picture of it to TheGirl. I'm not sure if she's going to want to go with the Cheyenne situation still being up in the air. I mean, she's good right now, but what happens come November? I'll ask her next week if she wants to go.

Claremont Village Eatery
Friday, August, 8, I texted Katherine the other day to say I was free August 23rd. She told me that any place was nice to eat as long as it had some vegetarian options. I did a search and found a place called Claremont Village Eatery, and texted her that to see if she approved. She told me that she has been there many times. Nice! The food looks super good.
taped my side to prevent cramping
Once I figured out that what I had was muscle spasms last night I used tape to prevent the muscles from cramping. Mission accomplished. That worked like a charm today. I only felt a little cramping towards the end of the route, because some of the tape had become loose. It was pretty amazing how the tape prevented any pain. I wonder why I'm getting this cramping. Could it be I'm not getting enough water? Possible. Guess I better make a stronger effort to drink more water.
lunch at Adam's Square
I was asked to move a pedestal from Central to Brand, so I made Brand my first stop today. Because of that I needed to redo the rest of the route. I landed at Adams at lunchtime. The best part of this is that Adams is usually the coldest of all the branches. On a day like this I needed to cool down, so I wouldn't feel bad like I did the other day.
picture from Talia today
I texted Talia today. She told me how she had emergency surgery back in January. I told her that things would get worse, but of course she waited until it was impossible to avoid it. But, I'm just glad that she is tumor free. She wants to hang out, so I'll have to make some time to see her. She said we could take some pictures, and she mentioned lingerie. OK. I like hearing that.
Talia: it was twenty years ago today
It's funny how the Algorithm works, because I text Talia and today happens to be the twentieth anniversary of me taking pictures of her at her Rial Lane home in Bel Air (above). It was not the first time she posed nude for me, but that shoot yielded some of her best pictures I took of her.
that kinda hurts
Most of the tape I had on my side was still sticking by the time I got home, but some had come off and I needed to just take everything off. When I did I noticed it was wet in some places. Had I cut myself. I checked, but it wasn't blood. It was like water, puss perhaps? Whatever it was, it was caused by the tape. A little bit of skin was cut as if there was a little puss bag. Oh well, it was the price I paid to not be in pain.

hot orange chicken
Saturday, August, 9, I ordered some hot orange chicken from Panda Express this morning. It was tasty and spicy.
pizza from Pizza Wagon
I went out to eat some pizza with my buddy. He told me he doesn't see any improvement, but I do. He also said he has been working at the Culver City branch of the county system. I didn't know he moved until now. He's going to be alright. We had pizza from Pizza Wagon, which is right up the street from me. Good eats. Lotta nice girls walking around too.
Talia
The pattern with Talia has always been her teasing me with her body and me falling for it every time. I miss sex, and Talia has always been a gatekeeper that doesn't lock the gate. She wants to hang out, but if I press her she will sleep with me. Or maybe I shouldn't assume that the pictures imply sex. Nah, they imply sex.
Talia's skin looks like she has a bunch of scars on it. She says they're mosquito bites, but I don't think so. They look like the sores you get if you use meth. I hope she's not using.

Christie Stevens
Sunday, August, 10, I was at the market getting one of the shopping carts and when I turned around right in front of me was Christie Stevens, porn star. I nodded and said hello and she just gave me a look as if to say, "I have pepper spray." Too bad, she's looking really skinny these days. I don't think she's in the business anymore. And, she's my neighbor.
that girl
I really like that a bunch of ladies like to dress in the tightest outfits that show their crack as they walk around the neighborhood. Today there was one I saw that had just used the ATM and was going back to her car. Super nice, but now it's typical. I used to see that once in a blue moon, now it's every day. And multiple times a day. Hurray!

going to take a shower
Monday, August, 11, I was jerking off and drinking late into the night last night, which usually means I oversleep. The thing is, I did wake up on time, but I fell back to sleep. I woke up, moved around a little, and I guess I sat down in my chair and passed out. That's where I woke up a little after 7am. I jumped up and took a ten minute shower. I got out the door in time to still make it to work ten minutes early. That was mainly because school is out, so there's less traffic. And, because I skipped eating breakfast.
birthday hat
The birthday hat is complete and ready for Saturday. I will still need to secure a tall ladder from Stephanie. Because otherwise I have no way of getting the hat on top of the bookmobile.
forgot my chips today
I still have some rice and beans leftover from last week, so I decided to eat them instead of my tuna salad today. Stupid me forgot the chips, so I had to buy some while on the route. None of these chips are good for me. I'm going to make some at home using the air fryer to make some without the bad oils that are used to make every commercial chip from the market.
another picture of Talia today - woo hoo!
Talia sent me more nude pictures. Her boobs are larger than I remember, but they also hang more. They used to be perkier, but they are bigger these days. They are more than a mouthful, that's for sure. I wonder if she'll let me titty fuck her. I did once a million years ago when we were fucking every Thursday when I was at CSUN. Those were the days.

why is she up so early?
Tuesday, August, 12, My aunt has a new pattern to her day. She was in the kitchen late last night, and then this morning she was in the kitchen super early. I like my time alone without her being around in the morning. She throws my whole routine out of whack. She gets in my way and just makes me do things differently. ARGH!
me in my new glasses
I went to pick up my glasses this morning. Ahhh, love that I can see again. For months my computer screens at work and home have been a tortuous blur. It was that young lady's ID that was so hard for me to make out that finally made me go to get some glasses. I don't know why I waited so long. I guess I thought that it would somehow get better on its own.
Duke's mayo
I went over to the Ralph's next door to the eyeglass place to do some shopping. I had forgotten a few items, because my aunt didn't write them down the other day. While there I also looked for a few things I forgot on Sunday. I went down this one aisle and found the mayo, because I was looking for Kewpie mayo and found Duke's instead. I hear this is also good, but now I get to try it. Maybe it's super good. I used to use Miracle Whip, but I stopped when I found out it was not real.
Chinatown
I had no plans for this week's Tuesday Adventure, so I just looked at my list of possible adventures. Nothing popped out, so I just ended up going to Chinatown. I bought some tea, and a fan. The fan I bought because I wanted to support this one vendor who was still trying to make a go at this nearly abandoned plaza. I also got some tea from a tea shop. You would think Chinatown would be full of tea sellers, but nope. Anyway, I needed a new steeper, but it needed to be less than two inches wide. I thought I found one in this one shop, but when I got home it was just a wee bit too big.
washing the bookmobile for social media
The video that was recorded of me washing the bookmobile is now online. It came out good.
new spring mix
I've been buying the pre-made spring mix at the market. This week they changed brands and the mix seems to be different than the one I was used to before. Maybe I need to see if any other mix is more like the previous. Before I do that I will have to try this mix and see if I like it more or less.
yet another scam email
I got an email supposedly from Omaha steaks. Now I used to get a email a week from them, but this one is a fake. Just like the one that scammed me the other day supposedly from AAA. I fell for that one easy, but this one I caught right away. I click on the link and it promises me some amazing deal, all I have to do is pay for the shipping. Than they start charging for phantom products. They probably rely on people not checking their statements, or not being enrolled in scam alert text messages. Ah huh. I spammed this email.
single's night?
I got an email from the Smoke House announcing their first single's night. I had a thought to go, but it's on a Wednesday. Womp womp. There goes that idea.
more Talia pictures
So far this is my favorite picture of the ones Talia has sent me over the last few days. I was thinking about how this new Talia reconnection might work out. She's sending me nudes of herself. I'm horny. What does that equation tell you? It tells you I'm a big dummy that misses sex.

Chevy Chase library
Wednesday, August, 13, My first stop on Wednesdays is Chevy Chase. There is usually a couple that walk up there to get their steps in, and they stay and do work. Today they had a friend along with them, a woman named Lisa. She was cute. I wonder if I'll get to see her next Wednesday. I would very much like to do that.
During my last visit with the doctor she said that I should lose weight and we could circle back around to retest me to see if that will prevent me from having to use any drugs to control my sugar levels. She mentioned doing that in October. But, I got a text from her office saying I should call in for an appointment this month. When I got the call she asked me what the call was regarding, and I told her I don't know. I was asked to make an appointment, so I did. She was like, oh OK. And we ended the call after I told her a couple of trivial things. Yeah, "Was this call really necessary" was definitely the question today.
me and my cool and cooling handkerchief
Two years ago I helped Erin at Brand with her tie dying program. I helped and made my own handkerchief. But I haven't used it for anything until today. It's a good size, so I soaked it and wore it around my neck all day to keep cool in this heat. It did the trick.
what is that on the side of the fire truck?
I was at Casa talking to Kerri in the back office when I looked out the window and spotted something on the fire truck that had just pulled up. It was a sticker, decal, that had a strange image on it. The image of the city burning. Like wha? What gives with this image? Why does it look like the entire city is in flames?
Cheyenne at Tally Rand
TheGirl and I sometimes already know where we are going to dinner, but not always. Today I just blurted out Tally Rand and TheGirl agreed. Easy. I wasn't sure what to eat, but I did skim the menu today. I got the Reuben. TheGirl got a turkey burger. Good eats. And we got turkey for Cheyenne, because it is way yummy there.
nice straight nose
Just before we finished an older gentleman was being escorted by two younger ladies. They told us that it was going to be his 104th birthday a few weeks, but that they wanted to celebrate with him today. Good for him. One of the two ladies was attractive. Enough that at one point I turned around and the light from the sun was hitting her that I saw her really nice nose. I'm not saying she was a model, but I liked her profile. I think the picture came out OK. It's not my best work.
Talia continued to send me pictures today. I still wonder what is going to happen now. Am I going to follow the same pattern I always do with her? Am I going to go to her house expecting to fuck her and then find some reason why I shouldn't? Because eight years ago we did fuck, but every other visit after that we didn't. And then I stopped texting her all together over me pleading with her to get the surgery. But, eventually it got so bad she had to have surgery. Well, all I ever wanted for her was a good life. We certainly have our differences, but I did love her at some point. That our relationships never worked out is both of our faults.

me ready with my new glasses
Thursday, August, 14, Today was the first day I wore my glasses at work. OMG, there was a point where I made a library card for someone and I was loving that I could see the text on the patron's driver's license. Woo hoo!!
I was thinking about Jade yesterday, but I didn't get around to texting him. So, I texted him today. One response gave me some possible insight into what excuse he's using to stay off work for so long. This was his response to me saying I was touching base and checking to see if he was doing good.
Sorry for the late reply.
Still unwell and recovering.
Thank you for reaching out to me, I appreciate it!
That second line about still being unwell and recovering means to me that he's using a medical excuse to not show up to work.
I often get sleepy on the desk, especially after lunch. When I got sleepy today I decided to stand up before I started to fall asleep. Something simple like that really made the difference, because I woke up after that move.
pussy talk video from archive dot-org
I was looking for a book online but when I went to click on a digital download the server said that the title was no longer available. So I tried Archive dot-org, because it has been a great resource. But, sometimes certain things I enter in the search field yield some funny results. This time one of the results was a video called Pussy Talk. Huh? I could see the thumbnail was a naked girl, so of course I HAD to check it out.
I came home and checked my mail and I had two letters from my insurance company saying that as of November they will no longer be underwriting fire insurance in the state. Just great. I don't know where to start, but I have to have some other insurance in November. For sure the bank will insist. This is directly caused by the wild fires earlier this year. Many companies are leaving the state rather than underwrite insurance policies that could cost them millions if not billions.

testing out the birthday hat
Friday, August, 15, Tomorrow is the bookmobile event, so I needed to make sure the hat made for it fits. Well, it does, but the original plan was to have it sit on top of the cabin, not the back part. But that was done without actually looking at the vehicle. So, it's way too big, but that seems to be the pattern with this thing. Oh well, we'll figure it out as always.
coffee
I sometimes get sleepy at work. If I'm on the desk it's sorta OK. But it's not OK when I'm driving. I decided to brew some coffee that we have at Circ. It was perfect. The moment I started to feel sleepy on the route I took two sips and that helped me stay awake. Later in the day I started feeling sleepy again, but another sip and that took care of that. Guess I'll have to make this a regular thing.
bookmobile cutout
Jaclyn came up with the great idea of having a huge cutout of the bookmobile for people to pose by. I finally picked it up today, after so much talk for so long. It's huge. I guess it has to be so that people can pretend to sit in the cabin. Cool.
bookmobile is packed
I went downstairs to put some more items in the bookmobile, and boy was it packed. Tomorrow is the bookmobile's big day. After that we don't go out until September. Fine by me. Once a month is fine by me. It's this every other week jazz I don't like. Especially when it's literally the entire day.
When I get off work I send TheGirl a text message saying "Freedom." Tonight I added, "Cram it, dopes." She didn't answer me until just after 5pm, about twenty-five minutes after my freedom message. That's when she texted me the following: "We are at an Urgent Care. Puppy isn't feeling very good. I'm hoping it wasn't a stroke. She was fine this morning." My heart sunk. TheGirl was quiet, and I immediately thought something was wrong with Cheyenne. I was right. We automatically think the worst when Cheyenne is off. Turns out she has something called IVDD, which is, "A condition in dogs where the cushioning discs between vertebrae either bulge or rupture, putting pressure on the spinal cord." Not good, but better than the alternatives.

Saturday, August, 16, It was way back in 2018 there appeared a gorgeous girl named Chloe in my life. She worked at the Pasadena library. I nicknamed TheBetter. She never gave me the time of day, but I loved her hips immediately. I wonder what happened to her. She posts things on Twitter, but nothing personal for a long while. Sigh.
big event at the school district offices
Today was another wall to wall bookmobile day. First we had to be at the school district offices to show off the bookmobile to everyone. We were super busy, mainly because the district had one vendor giving away Nikes, and another was giving away backpacks. Who doesn't want free stuff? Well, because of that free stuff today's visit was one of the busiest we've had. Good times. I will pat myself on the back for today. I did a lot.
Eliza the reporter
There is a young lady that I wrote about a couple of years ago that I helped while working at Adams Square library. She came up to me at the morning event and asked me a bunch of questions, because she's a reporter. I saw her at thirty paces and she looked better than ever. I think she might have dwarfism, but that just makes her body so nice and curvy. I could not stop wanting to stare at her ass. When she was interviewing me I had my glasses on, so her face looked like she was in 4K HD. I saw her during the event asking more people questions. I told her the bookmobile party was at that park, but she didn't go. Shame.
sandwich from Si Roma
My coworker Chris and I talk about food, but that's mainly because I always talk about food to everyone. Anyway, there was a sandwich truck that opened up a couple of years ago that looked promising, so I wanted to try it out. Chris informed me a few weeks ago that it was now at a brick and mortar right next door to the library at the Marketplace. I had plans on going today, since I was in the area. I finally got to try it and it was just meh. Nothing bad, but also not much on taste. The pesto was good, but it packed much taste. I most likely won't be going back.
time for a birthday party
Finally it was time for the birthday party. We were busy, but mainly because people were listening to the music of the Beat Buds. The bookmobile itself wasn't super busy. My coworker Tavasha said she counted about one hundred people showed up to this thing. Busy, but not super busy. For my part I didn't go nuts the entire day. I know Jaclyn was worried about every little thing. I just drive.

Sunday, August, 17, I woke up this morning, wanting to use the bathroom, and you guessed it my aunt was using the bathroom at the time. Because of course she's going to be in the bathroom at the exact time I need to use the bathroom. So I just went to the backyard and pissed out there. And of course I come back inside and she's already out of the bathroom.
I got a jury summons the other day and I had to go online today to postpone it. In the past I've postponed it to a holiday week, like Christmas. In doing so I gamble that no one will want to start a case, or be on a case, during the holidays. So far my strategy has worked, but we shall see if it works this time. I postponed it until the week of Christmas.

Chandaka at Casa today
Monday, August, 18, Mala asked me last week to cover at Casa today instead of doing the route. I can't say no. I mean, I guess I should try once. Either way, it was best to be inside in this heat.
I guess I didn't have enough food to eat this morning, because by the time I got to work I was hungry. Luckily I was early, so I went over to Ralph's next door for some guacamole. While there I grabbed a burrito out of the frozen food section. I've bought this brand before. I had just enough time to heat it up and eat it. Oh, but it was awful. I only finished it out of the principle of not wasting food, but what I had was barely food.
hanging out
I've mentioned in the past that my balls sometimes pop out of my underwear. It hadn't happened in a while, but then it happened again today. I need to get new underwear. Since I've lost weight a lot of my clothes are starting to hang from me. It's a good problem to have.
Speaking of that, I've now lost enough weight to use the third notch on my belt comfortably.
Cheyenne looking at me
I asked TheGirl for an update on Cheyenne when I went to visit them tonight. She says that the doctor put her on a different pain medication, in addition to the one she's already taking. But, TheGirl wants to check with her Vet to make sure it's OK for her to take both. Cheyenne is in good shape, but she also slips more on the hardwood floor. TheGirl also had to buy her a harness because the pressure from a collar is too much. Poor girl, Cheyenne is getting older by the minute.
the view from the car
cleaner now
I looked at Chan this afternoon with my glasses on and I saw how filthy he looked. OMG! His face and hands and feet were so dirty. When I got home I scrubbed him all up and cleaned him as best I could. I think hims looks a lot cleaner.

that girl
Tuesday, August, 19, I had to pick up my aunt's prescription at CVS this morning, because I was too lazy to do it yesterday. But, it turned out to be a good thing because there was a pretty girl there. I went to get my aunt's pills, but while there the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted to get the flu shot. Sure, I had some time before work. He told me to sit down at the waiting area. I went over there and sat down. A moment later this cute girl in a tight workout outfit is in the aisle in front of me. Jabbers, she had a nice body. They gave me a $10 off coupon after getting my vaccination, but I never buy anything at CVS. On my way out I passed the pretty girl and then doubled back and gave her the coupon.

saw a bunny this morning
Wednesday, August, 20, At the end of the morning huddle this morning Sarah, the teen librarian, announced that she will be leaving. She's given notice and her last official day is September 2nd. But, really this week is her last in office. Big moves. I hardly got to know her. She was uniquely proportioned. She was not a tiny girl, but I really wanted to see her naked. Her behind was a marvel. Oh well, not long for this guy's life.
Last week I met a nice lady named Lisa that is studying for something at Chevy Chase during what the library has called Choice Hours. Which is to say hours where the public can go in the library using their library card to unlock the doors. Not a lot of people use that library, so it's good that we do have at least some people using it via this means. Anyway, Lisa is nice. I would like to see her naked, as well. How that's going to happen I don't know. Because I say these things but I have zero plans on making a pass at her or any woman. I guess I'm caught up in this limbo of wanting to totally commit to the Vulcan lifestyle, while still desiring intimate contact with a lady. I'm 1,000% sure Lisa isn't interested in me anyway. How can I make such a blanket statement? Trust me bro, I know.
Cheyenne sleeping after dinner
TheGirl and I knew we wanted to go to Dog Haus for dinner tonight since Monday. It has good eats, and the patio is in the shade. The debate tonight wasn't if we should go, but if TheGirl should feed Cheyenne a burger patty for dinner. TheGirl is torn, because she doesn't want to give Cheyenne too many burger patties, but then the doctor told her to spoil Cheyenne. I mean, she still has cancer. So, she got her a patty, and Cheyenne ate it all up. I don't know what either of us is going to do after Cheyenne passes. It will be one of the saddest days of both of our lives.
After getting home I realized that I had left my glasses somewhere. I asked TheGirl to check her car tomorrow. Sure, she said. Barely over a week with my new glasses and I've already lost my glasses. Shame on me.

back at Dog Haus
Thursday, August, 21, When TheGirl told me last night that my glasses were not in her car I figured that I must have left them at Dog Haus. I had some time this morning, so I swung by Dog Haus to see if they might still be on the patio table. They were not, but I noticed their umbrellas were down, which means they must have found them. They don't open this location until 10am, so I figured I would call them shortly after that. Sure enough, I called and they said they had my glasses. I guess this is why people have a spare pair of glasses.
cleavage reenactment
TheGirl mentioned to me after I noticed Chan's face was filthy that wearing glasses would make me see everything in HD. She wasn't kidding. Chan's face was so dirty, but I didn't see it before. Today a lady wearing a workout outfit came in to get a new library card. Her top showed some cleavage, and it was bigger than life with my new glasses. Nice.
Elizabeth Espinosa
I have what I call a TV crush on Elizabeth Espinosa. Well, she's no longer on TV. She used to be a reporter for channel five here in Los Angeles. A few years ago she took a job with the sheriff's department and I only get to see her on social media now. I thought she was gorgeous. She posted some pictures today, and she's still gorgeous. Sigh.

pretty Armenian girl that works at parks today and back in March
Friday, August, 22, The pretty Armenian girl that works for the parks department walked by me today. I wonder what her story is.
Grayce texted me the other day to say that she had news. Today we got to talk. Grayce is being thrown out of her office. We don't know the bigger why, but we do know that this is Krishna's doing. Grayce told me that her principal asked to see her at the end of the day. It was a journey trying to find the principal, but when she finally did she got the broadside news that she was losing her desk and office at Pacific. Pacific is strange, because the public library also serves as the school library. Which means Grayce works for the school district, but works at the public library. So there are all sorts of overlapping jurisdictions. Krishna definitely said something to the principal, because when Grayce asked her why this was happening Krishna's replay was, "Ask your principal." That's not an answer. I told Grayce in response to that why couldn't Krishna be a human being and tell her the reason. The principal for her part told Grayce that it was because Krishna was changing her schedule, and was going to be working at Pacific on Thursdays now. That's the day Grayce spends the most time in the office. So Grayce is kicked out and frustrated. Because now they want to put her on a shared desk in the back office. They have marginalized her, and basically been told that her job isn't important enough. That's how I read it. I texted Jade about it, and he gave some good advice about creating a paper trail. I didn't want to tell Grayce anything at the time, but I did start to think of the long term consequences if she fights this and forces Krishna to share a space with her. Krishna is not OK, and she will not make it easy for Grayce. Because she could have handled this much better by going to Grayce and telling her about her schedule changes, and how that might affect Grayce. Instead she used the proper channels against Grayce to humiliate her. Anyway, Jade gave some good advice and I told Grayce about it. I hope something positive happens, but knowing Glendale it won't.
Tavashia mentioned that Syco talked to her about taking on Sarah's work, now that she's leaving. They want to dump all of Sarah's work on Tavashia, because of course they would. The thing is, just as the budget was crashing a couple of months ago they cut Tavashia's hours. She got a second job, which now takes up the balance of her time. Now these dopes want to hand her a bunch of projects, but she doesn't have the time. Nor the inclination to help them after they abandoned her. So it's an interesting dynamic. Syco apparently is involving Emma and Desiree with the work as well. The meanest thing that Tavashia mentioned was how from the start of the meeting Syco tells her that there are no assurances that they will be hiring the full time teen librarian position. Like don't even think that's going to happen, kind of thing.
I also heard from Grigor and Joseph that Krishna reached out to both of them to work bookmobile events. Since most of them are on Saturdays Grigor is out. Joseph also doesn't want to help out since he was also hung out to dry when they allowed that bookmobile job go away. So, Krishna is stuck with me. Honestly I don't even know why they asked those guys about the job. I'm the only one willing to do it. And I do it to a standard that the two guys would find hard to match now, because I've been doing it for a year. Given a year they would be doing the job just as fine, but would they be as flexible with their schedules? That's the thing. Well, we don't need to ask to find out, because they already said no. Oh and then there is the third of this match, Chuck. I haven't seen him to ask him if they asked him to work the bookmobile. I'm 100% sure they did though.
TheNewCute in 2019
It was way back in 2019 that I took the above picture of TheNewCute. She was new to the system, but I already thought she was cute. Hence the nickname.

Saturday, August, 23, Lately I've been waking up in my chair in my room, after a night of drinking and jerking off. Two of my favorite things to do. Drinking will often lead to losing control over my bladder. Sure enough, I woke up this morning soaked in my pee. Like a young lad that peed the bed, I had to strip my chair of everything that was soaked. As I write this the washing machine is spinning my clothes and my urine soaked chair cover. I threw the cushion on the roof to let the hot sun bake away the stench of urine from the cushion. All this on the morning that I'm going to see Katherine in Claremont.
Katherine's office is a fishbowl
I made it a point to not look at my phone the entire time I was at lunch with Katherine. I want to be in the moment with a great many things. We had a good lunch and a good talk. Some work things, but also just life in general, and how much I love Claremont. So nice to go away to that place. I have to do it more often. Katherine told me about something that's coming up in October, something call the Village Venture. It's an art and craft fair.
Elizabeth and Samantha
Katherine pointed out a spot next to the vintage store that she said had an interesting lady there. Sure enough, the lady at the house was very interesting. Elizabeth spoke to me for about an hour. All that time she must have repeated herself five times, because she would start her spiel again when someone new would come by.
The Massoud - fish bowl study room
One of those someones was a young lady named Samantha. She and I stood there listening to the lady for another twenty minutes after Samantha arrived. After that we both left and I walked with her into the college and onto the Scripps campus. I had planned on going to take some pictures there, and it was nice to just talk to Samantha walking there on what felt like the hottest day of the year. I didn't exchange any information with her, but I did mention that Ilsa works up at Harvey Mudd, and that their cafeteria is the best of all the campuses. Samantha said she had heard that too. I don't know if I'll ever see Samantha again, but I hope I do. If not, it was nice to share that talk with Elizabeth and her.
The heat and humidity combined to make today horrible while I was in Claremont. During the morning drive it looked like we might get some rain. A few sprinkles fell on my car while driving to Claremont. No rain ever materialized... just heat and humidity.
another girlie picture from Talia
Talia sent me another girlie picture. I think this is my second favorite of the series she has sent to me lately.

waste of paper
Sunday, August, 24, My health insurance is through L.A. Care. Because it's through the health exchange the government pays for all of it. But LA Care sends me a bill every month, despite me trying multiple times to change notices to paperless online. Today I got the bill and it was filled with paper saying I have rights and such. I guess they HAVE to put that in every bill. A bill I can view online, but haven't been able to change it to paperless. Such a waste.
why no lemonade?
There was no Simply lemonade at the market today. I wonder why. Probably for the better, since I don't want to have to use drugs for my diabetes. But, I do like making an Arnold Palmer from time to time. One of the teas I cold brew is Earl Grey, just so I can mix it with the lemonade and have an Arnold Palmer. Oh well, maybe next week.
underwear
The underwear I wore today was loose. At the end of the day I just trashed it. Part of this is that pair has worn elastic. My weight loss doesn't help keeping my loose underwear on.

Monday, August, 25, Last night I started to jerk off, but it was still warm in my room. I wanted to use the mist fan that Krishna got us all for when we work in the heat at bookmobile events. Earlier in the evening I figured I didn't need it in my room, so I left it in the wash room. Well, I got hot while jerking off and I wanted to use the mist spray to cool me down a bit. But I remembered I left it in the wash room. I checked the security camera and saw that my aunt's room was dark. So I put my boxers on and went to the wash room. Just as I got to the kitchen I see my aunt slowly walking to the bathroom. Perfect timing that never happens for the good things, only the bad things. I just grabbed the fan and went back to my room and wrote this paragraph. Thanks... for... nothing, Algorithm.
walking around campus to familiarize myself with the layout, twenty years ago
It was twenty years ago today that I had my CSUN orientation. I can't believe it's been that long. I told my buddy and he said that was another lifetime. It really was. Some of the best years of my life were the years I spent on that campus. I loved the energy, the people and the fact that I was finishing up something I should have finished long before.
quoted in the paper
When I was at the Glendale school district event I was interviewed by the press. I mentioned it in a previous entry. Well, they finally published the article and I was quoted.
I finally got an official announcement of how the new hours at Central will affect me. Here's the email:
Unless your shifts end at 9pm, your usual working hours for September are not affected.
I will have a different start time on Thursday, because I would normally start at 9am, but now I'm starting at 10am. So, I lose one hour in the exchange.

first stop, 35MM Pro
Tuesday, August, 26, I didn't have any plans for a Tuesday Adventure today, because there were a few things I wanted to get done today. I wanted to see if I could get some insurance from an insurance broker on Ventura. Done. I wanted to drop off some film at this place also on Ventura. Done. I wanted to donate blood. Not done. They don't open until 11am. I wanted to drop off the old Polaroid camera I have at the camera shop to see if they can fix it. Done. I wanted to go back to the Red Cross, but that's on the other side of Burbank.
As I write this I'm finishing up my dinner break afraid that TheGirl has been quiet all day long. She was going to take Cheyenne to the vet to follow up on her neck pain from last week. I don't know what time that will be, but from the past it's usually in the late afternoon.
It turned 6pm and I couldn't help myself... I texted TheGirl hoping her response was not going to be negative.
finally... a text
TheGirl admitted to being MIA today, as she put it. But it wasn't a problem with Cheyenne, it was her not friend Rob. He's not OK. She had to take him into the ER - again. Not good. Cheyenne did go in to see her vet, as TheGirl said, "All good there!" Whew!
photo editing tonight
I dropped off my film this morning, and they said that I would have the digital images today. Great. They arrived and I started to pick which ones I liked, and wanted to work on in Lightroom.

Wednesday, August, 27, I put my pants on and this morning I was able to put my belt on the forth notch. And I mean comfortably. I didn't wear my belt on the forth notch all day though. I kept it on the third. I'm starting to swim in my jeans, which I think is a good thing. I'm not just doing this to avoid having to take any meds. I'm doing it because I don't like carrying all that weight on me.
One of the librarians at Central let it slip that she's looking for another job. I can't blame her, Central is a mess. So many patrons have complained to me that they don't like going there because of the homeless situation. But there's nothing that the current administration wants to do to mitigate the problem. They want to deal with it on a case by case basis, but this needs new ideas. Kerri has told me that there is a vibe that something is going to happen soon. Maybe an exodus. Maybe more movement. I don't know.
dinner at Smoke House
TheGirl and I hadn't been to the Smoke House in a bunch. I was even starting to wonder if she just didn't like going there anymore. I like going, so I was happy when she suggested it for tonight's dinner. I do like Tally Rand as well. But that can be next week. Cheyenne loves the fish from the fish and chips at Smoke House. They serve halibut, which is quite tasty.

new magazine covers
Thursday, August, 28, The magazines at Casa now have covers. Not sure why we needed that, but OK. Now it's a thing. But, magazines come in different sizes, so one size of holder won't do here. Well, unless it's a huge cover/holder. And then small magazines like Reader's Digest and Prevention will have huge covers. Why did we even go down this road?
I wanted to get my steps in today, but it was too warm during my lunch hour. Afterwards it cooled down a bit, but it was still muggy. Not good walking weather, especially since I can't be stinking up the joint at work. So, no steps today. Except to go to the market to get some tea for my jug here at Casa.
I want to say something to the boss about all that's wrong with the library. But I had a thought... what if I'm hoping for a savior, but I find out that they are the cause of the problem.
My aunt says she's sleepy while warming up some bread to eat at 10:15pm.

new alarm clock
Friday, August, 29, Earlier this week I was late for work, because I drank like a fish and I overslept. I've looked online for loud alarm clocks before. This time I HAD to buy one, because I was half an hour late for work on Monday. The alarm clock finally arrived, and I was all set to test it out this morning. Predictably I woke up BEFORE the new clock had a chance to wake me up this morning. I'm sure future me will appreciate that I bought this thing.
post coitus
I had to move a large piece of furniture this morning. It's not super heavy, but it's bulky. So, I had some problems getting into the van. After I delivered it I felt like I had gone nine rounds with it. That's why I posted the picture and titled it post coitus.
where is everyone?
I got back to Central at 8:58am - just in time to open the doors. When I was walking to open the doors I noticed no one was at the front desk. When I got back from opening the doors there was still no one on the front desk. And, there were already patrons. So I jumped into action. Followed closely by Mala. I quickly logged into the computer and printed out a few of the temporary computer passes. Those are the most popular things first thing in the morning. With that I was all set, and still no desk crew. I even made a library card for someone and finally the crew showed up. Hey, I was late earlier in the week, but still. Both the persons manning the desk were late today. Tisk, tisk.
lunch in the van today
I didn't like the pastrami I bought for this week's sandwiches. It was meh. Because of that meh taste I figured I would make something else for lunch today, but then I got lazy and decided I would get a burger or something. The Burger King app failed them, because I couldn't order what I wanted from that. So I was going to try Jack in the box, and ended up just going there and ordering up four tacos. That and my salad was my lunch today. Which I ate in the van with the A/C blasting, because I didn't want to eat at Grandview or Brand today.
ice cream
After everything that happened today I felt the need to have some Thrifty ice cream. Mission accomplished.
newest job scam text
For the last few weeks I've been getting text messages that advertise job openings for what seems to be the perfect job. I know they're all scams. Today this one popped up. If I was out of a job, and naive, I might fall for this want ad. This is not the only one of these that I've received. I've received one every other day, on average. I mean, some poor sap is going to fall for the idea of working for two hours a day and getting up to $600 for that. I would do that too. Deleted, and blocked!

Saturday, August, 30, I still haven't told my aunt about my new glasses. It's like I don't even want to talk to her, let alone tell her about my glasses. I also have to tell her about losing our fire insurance, and how it's now going to cost $2,300 for coverage. I plan on going in to sign papers on Tuesday, so I have to tell her before then.

Sunday, August, 31, Nothing to really report on today. I still haven't told my aunt about the insurance or my glasses. She really annoys me. Yesterday I went to help my buddy move some furniture. I left the gate open so I could just slip in and park easily. She closed it. Like why? She has nothing better to do than to make my life harder? That's what it really is... she thinks she's helping me, but she ends up not helping me half the time. It's damn annoying. Anyway, it's almost cool enough outside to hang in the backyard. First I'll fold my whites, then I'll look over this journal to see if there are any big mistakes. Then upload tonight, and jerk off after that. I know, busy Sunday!

Wrap-up: August has been a long month. While other months of the year have felt like they have flown by, August has felt long. I can't say it was a bad month. I got to do some nice stuff, like have lunch in Claremont with Katherine. Just being in Claremont feels right. I've lost some more weight, which is great. Cheyenne keeps on trucking, though she is getting older. Seemingly by the minute. The bookmobile event yielded me being quoted in the paper. It was a good month, easily a solid B grade for me. Now, on to my birthday month.
