Welcome to IMG_171 (image one seventy-one, to be exact).

For eight years, from 2001 until 2009, I took pictures and posted them on a site I called Vista Drive.  At the end of 2009 I felt that it was time for a fresh start, a point where I can build upon what I've learned from the previous eight years.  IMG_171 marks the end of one endeavor and the start of another.

When you look at my photographs understand that each one represents a fully thought out process, never a halfhearted attempt.  Art is an outlet for my want to understand my place in the Universe.  I appreciate the absolute wonder that I feel when I see something beautiful that is beyond words.  These photographs are representative of how I see the world around me.  Where others ignore, I cherish.  Where others trample, I pause.  Where others are too busy, I contemplate.

My philosophy is simple: I take pictures of things I find beautiful and interesting. During any given day we speed past a multitude of perfect little moments without seeing or appreciating them.  If we could only slow down enough, perhaps we could find what we are all looking for.  But one can't go out with the intent of looking for these moments, you have to find them by pure chance.  I once read in a book that a moment is all you could ever expect from perfection.  Perhaps I'm a hopelessly romantic fool, but I still believe in the "Green light."  It eludes us, "But that's no matter tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther...."
